Saliem Fakir

Saliem is an expert in in climate, energy, finance and economics. He is the Founder and Executive Director of the African Climate Foundation. He currently also holds the position of Honorary Lecturer at the Nelson Mandela School of Governance. Saliem serves on the Board of GreenCape and is the Board Chair for the Atlantic Special Economic Zone.

Prior to establishing the Foundation, Saliem was the Head of the Policy and Futures Unit at WWF South Africa. He also worked at Lereko Energy Investments and served as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Public Administration and Planning and an Associate Director for the Centre for Renewable and Sustainable Energy at Stellenbosch University. Prior to this, Saliem was the Director of the World Conservation Union, South Africa (IUCN-SA).
