Danie van Zyl

Head: Smoothed Bonus Centre of Excellence, Sanlam Corporate

Danie has extensive experience covering risk, annuity and investment offerings in the retirement industry since joining Sanlam in 1998. Danie is currently responsible for ensuring the success of Sanlam’s smoothed bonus solutions in the institutional market.

Danie has been part of the expert panel responsible for the design of the Sanlam Benchmark Survey for the Retirement Fund industry and analysing participant’s responses since 2006. He is also involved in analysing the impact of the South African national budget and regulatory reforms on the retirement fund industry.

Danie completed his actuarial studies in 2003. He is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK) as well as the Actuarial Society of South Africa and is also a CFP® professional.
